Please note that appointment times have an arrival window of approximately thirty minutes prior or after actual appointment time. There are several factors that may affect our arrival: traffic, refueling, routing, issues with prior appointments, etc. If our arrival time will exceed our hour window, you will be notified of the delay. Latchkey, key on file, garage code, etc. services are offered after your initial appointment. Initial appointments require your presence for the entire grooming service.
Estimates are typically provided prior to your appointment. Please note that grooming prices will vary depending on the pet's hair coat type/condition, haircut desired, behavior, etc. Prices are based on an hourly rate and longer hair cuts, matted or overgrown coat, etc. will increase the grooming service time and affect pricing. Our minimum trip fee of $90 will be applied even if grooming services are unable to be completed due to pet's medical condition, behavior or any other condition that isn't the fault of Groomington's. Please note that our prices are not negotiable and subject to change without notice.
Clients who are unable to keep their appointment must notify Groomington's at least 48 hours in advance of their scheduled appointment to avoid a cancellation fee. It is the client's responsibility to monitor their appointment dates. Groomington's will send courtesy reminder messages via text message four and three days prior to your appointment with an option to cancel or confirm. Failure to confirm your appointment will result in a cancellation of your appointment. Please communicate any potential conflicts to scheduling as soon as possible.
If your presence is required at our arrival and nobody is present, we will wait fifteen minutes before considering the appointment a no call/no show. Please note that we require promptness of payment and pick up of your pet.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice will result in a late cancellation fee of $50. No call/no show will result in a fee of our minimum trip fee of $90. These fees must be paid before services will be rescheduled. A pre-paid deposit will be required after a second late cancellation. Repeated violations of this policy will result in services being discontinued.
There will be an extra charge for matting as determined by the groomer. It is understood that grooming of matted or over-grown coats is much more likely to result in skin irritation or minor nicks. Matting often hides underlying skin/coat issues that are revealed once the hair is cut. If, at any time, it is determined that grooming cannot safely be continued, the owner/agent will be immediately contacted and asked to return to pick-up the pet.
For our safety and the safety of your dog, we require disclosure of any prior aggressive behavior. We need to know how to safely approach, handle and groom your dog. If the pet's behavior warrants extra equipment (muzzles, e-collars, etc.) there will be an additional handling fee applied. We reserve the right to refuse service for any unsafe behavior.
Dogs who have health issues or senior dogs will be offered comfort and cleanliness grooming to avoid injury as much as possible. Please note that a handling fee may be charged for extra care needed.
If any fleas or other parasites are noted, grooming will be stopped and immediate pick up of the dog may be requested. We do not use flea shampoos or dips and are not able to treat any parasite infestation. Our minimum trip fee of $90 will be charged.
Please refrain from tapping on the mobile grooming van, walking by the windows or otherwise distracting your pet during the grooming process. Your presence may distract your dog and make grooming more stressful or dangerous.
Any abusive language or behavior towards staff of Groomington's will not be tolerated.
Every effort will be made to groom your dog to meet your expectations, as far as the dog will tolerate and the coat condition and type allows. A dog's welfare, safety and peace of mind will always be placed above adherence to a particular style. It must be made clear however, that no guarantee can be made in this regard, and Groomington's accepts no responsibility for the groom being carried out according to instructions, but not to your visual expectations. Records are kept in order to track progress and it may take several grooming sessions for the coat to grow to desired style.
Your pet may be photographed and/or video recorded before, during and after the grooming session. These images may be used on our website, social media pages, advertisements, etc., unless you specifically request us not to do so. Any such opt-out request must be detailed in writing, and submitted to us at time of your pet's appointment.
Throughout the grooming process, great care will be taken to ensure the health, safety and well-being of your dog. Your pet's safety and comfort is our number one priority. However, Groomington's cannot be held liable for any pre-existing conditions and problems found throughout the grooming process. Any advice given regarding health problems should be followed up with advice from your vet. Although accidents are very rare, there is always a risk when working with animals. Grooming equipment is sharp and although extreme caution and care is used in all situations, possible problems could occur including: cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified of the accident. If we feel it is serious, and the owner is not on-site, Groomington's will seek immediate veterinary care for your pet. This release gives the staff of Groomington's full authorization to seek medical treatment from the nearest veterinary clinic in the case of any medical emergency while in the care of Groomington's.
